I can sync from any Mac or device and and additions, deletions or changes will show up in all devices. Except that "back in the day" when Quicken was first started, people only had one PC, multi-user wasn't even an idea and certainly there was no cloud.īut Quicken is woefully stuck in the stone age on many issues.and this is just one of them.īanktivity's sync is a true backup of your data. To me, it makes zero sense why they've done this.

Therefore, you can't restore your data file by syncing from one PC to another with Quicken. The data that is synced to the Quicken Cloud is a subset of your actual complete data file for use on their Web or Mobile apps.

Quicken's sync process isn't a true sync anyways. Basically, they'll get you the same data reporting in either.Ĭorrect. I don't see a whole lot of difference between the two. So you can try it and see if you like it. Quicken Mac has a 30 day money back guarantee. Most everything else is equal or worse in Banktivity, including the ridiculous subscription price.Ī Quicken Mac subscription also allows you to download and use Quicken Windows for the same price. That plus the mobile app are the two pluses. I like the budget module better in Banktivity than in Quicken Mac. Banktivity requires you to pay $79 for an annual subscription which includes Direct Access. That gets you downloading from almost all financial institutions plus the mobile apps (both of which are not very good). Quicken Deluxe can be found for $29 on sale at retail outlets for an annual subscription. After all, dark mode has now been available for over two years.

IMO, it's just more ineptness from Quicken programmers. Everyone else seems to have created a dark mode with no issues whatsoever. Even the developer states that it's a difficult implementation for them. But there are IRR and ROI calculations for YTD, 1 year, 3 year and 5 year. Everything runs through the portfolio section and you have to print from there.

Now, investment reports are another story. I can't imagine any transaction type report (and that includes Net Worth) that you could possibly need that Quicken Mac can't create. It allows for Cash Flow type of reports that can include outside transfers in or out.

It will create just about any type of report you can imagine with full customization. The report engine has been totally revamped almost a year ago. I don't know what the other two posters have used.but it's not Quicken Mac.
